There are some tabs present below the drawing area. The first, named Model, is the one used for modeling and creating drawings. The other tabs, by default named Sheet1 and so on, represent simulations of paper sheets that will be printed. It is possible to define up to 255 sheets, also known as layouts.
Note
DraftSight also allows the user to print from the model, but printing from sheets is much more versatile.
Printing from sheets has the following advantages:
Sheets can include several viewports, each with its own view and scale. So, to add details, it's only to create a new viewport zoomed to the part and with a different scale
From a single model, it is possible to define several sheets, aiming different printers, paper formats, or with distinct information
Elements like annotations, title blocks, identification, notes, tables, and so on, can be directly inserted in sheets, without mixing it with the model
