We will now create the materials for the environment. Even if the materials are not too complex, we will be able to learn some new interesting techniques.
We have to go through several materials. We want to achieve a nice sci-fi look, and we will do this with the help of different textures. Let's start with the floor material.
Let's select the floor mesh and add a new material to it, naming it Floor
.
The following are the steps for creating the floor:
Add a Glossy BSDF node and mix it with the default Diffuse BSDF using a Mix Shader node.
Set the Diffuse node's color to RGB 0.005, 0.010, 0.020 and the Roughness value to
1.000
.Set the Glossy node's Color to RGB 0.34, 0.34, 0.34 and the Roughness value to 0.020.
Add an Image Texture node and a Texture Coordinate node. Load the
FloorDisp.exr
file and use the UV coordinates.Add a Mapping node by navigating to Add | Vector, and place it between the Texture Coordinate and Image...
