Advanced texturing techniques


You've now got a partly textured scene (using one or more of the discussed methods), which is ready for detailed texturing. You will already be able to see whether your scene works as it is or whether some changes need to be introduced to make the composition work. Go ahead and make any changes at this stage before you spend too long on texturing. The following two sections will explain these texturing methods in much more detail:

  • Single image-based texturing

  • Seamless (tileable) texturing

You will learn how to manipulate the textures you've already got, enhance them, and add new ones.

Applying whole photographs as textures

I think that, by now, you have an idea why SketchUp is so revolutionary for architectural visualization.
