In this chapter, you have imported sound effects into objects, voice-over narration on slides, and background music on the entire project.

The first thing to keep in mind is that this chapter only introduces you to the most typical use cases. In practice, nothing prevents you from adding voice-over narration at object level, music at slide level, and sound effects at project level. There are certainly lots of creative ways to use sound in Captivate, with your creativity being the ultimate limit to what is possible to achieve.

To produce the needed audio files, Captivate offers the ability to record your own clips. But you can also import audio clips produced in an external application or convert text typed in the Slide Notes panel to speech using one of the speech agents provided by Captivate or already present on the system.

Wherever they are coming from, these audio files make your eLearning content much more interesting, interactive, accessible, and fun to use.
