Greetings! Glad to see that you have powered through the initial setup and can join us for our first day of spy class. In this chapter, we'll be exploring the auditory domain and all the fun things humans and machines can do with sound waves. In particular we will:
- Take a detailed look at Linux's sound architecture
- Look at how to connect and configure audio gadgets to our Pi, and select which audio output to use
- Connect a microphone, record audio using our Pi, and build a wearable voice recorder using a Pi Zero
- Use Bluetooth to send and receive audio wirelessly
- Learn about the SoX utility to manipulate audio files
- Configure a Voice-over IP network so we can call our fellow agents
- Use voice commands to control our Pi
