  1. Press the Add a new discussion topic button:

2. You're now taken to the Add a new discussion topic page. Your new forum post needs a subject line and there is a box for you to create your message. Here's mine:

3. At the bottom of the page, you'll see that there is an option to include a picture with your post. This is very useful: students can scan in work they are stuck on and attach the scanned image to a post. While we are experimenting with forum posts, you could try attaching an image now. Remember: you won't break anything.

4. Once you're happy with what you are about to post, press the Post to forum button. After the confirmation message (reminding you that you have 30 minutes in which to change your mind about what you've just written), you're taken back to the forum where your new post is listed:
