In the previous chapter we concentrated on mathematical notation and various ways we can generate it and include it in our courses. We ended the previous chapter investigating ASCIIMathML, a Moodle filter that allows us to incorporate accessible mathematics using a natural form of notation (no need to learn TeX). ASCIIMathML includes a powerful component that allows us to easily incorporate graphs of functions. This leads on to thinking about how to include graphs and charts into our courses. One way of doing so is to simply draw the graph or chart and scan it in. However, this method isn't very flexible and also not very accessible. In this chapter, we will investigate the tools that we can use to create graphs and charts and learn how to incorporate them into our courses.
