Osmosis takes a list of command-line arguments that tell it what tasks to perform. Each task in turn will usually have its own arguments, and a complete command line for Osmosis can get very long. As a result of this, each task has both a long and short form, with the latter being easier to type, but harder to read if you can't remember each command. We'll use the long form in all our examples, so that it's obvious what we're doing. Once you're more familiar with Osmosis, you can find all the short versions of each task documented at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmosis/Detailed_Usage.
Tip
Command-line arguments are case-sensitive
All the options and parameters used by Osmosis on the command line are case-sensitive, even on Windows, so make sure that you include capital letters where indicated.
Always use the scripts located in the bin
subfolder to start Osmosis. Trying to use the Java files directly won't produce the results you're looking for in most cases...
