Chapter 7. Institution Administrators, Staff Members, and Group Tutors

So far, we've looked at how we can use all the standard features of Mahara to put together our own eye-catching portfolio, socialize with other Mahara users, and control our settings. In this chapter we are going to look at roles beyond that of a standard user.

In the first part of the chapter, we will look at institutions using Mahara and some of the things that an Institutional Administrator can do.

The second part will focus on using Mahara specifically within a learning context, where there is more of a need for teachers/tutors to manage students/learners. We will be exploring a special type of Group called a Course Group. We will also be looking at two types of roles associated with these groups called "staff members" and "group tutors".
