Time for action—setting the header size and background color


  1. 1. Open the design mockup that you created in Chapter 6, Planning your Moodle Theme by using Adobe Photoshop.

    Mine looks something like the preceding screenshot, and so should yours if you completed the last chapter, including the Have a go hero sections. If it doesn't, it is maybe because you didn't complete the whole chapter or you didn't get around to creati ng all the blocks. Don't worry too much, as we only need to create the CSS for one block to create them all in Moodle.

  2. 2. Click on the Rectangular Marquee tool.

  3. 3. Drag a selection area from the top of the blue header to the bottom, and don't worry too much about the width, as you are measuring only the height.

  4. 4. Look at the Info palette on the right-hand side of your screen to get the exact height in pixels. You should see figures for the width and the height. As you can see in the following screenshot, the height is 91px.
