Introduction


In this chapter, you will be able to design a writing technique in which students will be able to explore a topic from other points of view. Thus, they will not be trapped in only one viewpoint. This discussion clock does not have two hands but twelve, because each one (which belongs to each number) is going to focus on a different topic.

It is very wise to move away to another point of view, so in that way we can consider many aspects and alternatives. The finding of new options is the desired outcome. Those elements are a 'must' in using the thinking skill properly. Therefore, the discussion clock is the technique to work with when we want to encourage our students to plan their writing in this way.

We are going to draw several types of discussion clocks to be creative ourselves as well. Some students can be much more productive with some variants of clocks than others, due to the fact that their thinking is better when working with images, music, questions, words, and so on...
