As we have seen in the beginning of this chapter, Scribus will display all the fonts installed on your operating system. In fact, all the software you have will behave like this. But we have several possibilities to get a different list of fonts. This is important mainly because:
When you work on a document that needs two or three fonts, you don't want to look for them all the time
If you look for a client or have graphical charter, you want to prevent errors
Managing your font will be a time-saving operation and a help with keeping a structured layout as well.
First of all, when you create a Text Frame in a new document, the default font is automatically applied to the text you type inside. The default font can be defined in the Tools part of the Document Setup. If you always use the same, set it in the Preferences.
