It's time to leave our oscillator section and move into the other sections of our instrument. You may use the sound you created recently, or use a simple sawtooth wave in a single oscillator to perform the next task. As long as you don't have a sine wave, the filter should work just fine (remember that sine waves have no harmonics to filter!):
- Select the ENV/LFO tab on the Triple Oscillator synth:
- Turn the filter on by clicking the button just to left of the name FILTER:
- Hold Y down on your computer's keyboard, and start turning the Cutoff knob.
- Listen to the effect the filter is having on the sound. Turn the Reso parameter and listen to the emphasis that is placed at the cutoff point.
- Change filter type to HiPass by clicking on the disclosure triangle next to the cutoff type:
- Use the Cutoff parameter and listen to the effect of the filter. You will hear the low frequencies of the sound being filtered starting at the cutoff point...
