Time for action — making a Wordle word cloud


Let's learn how to create a Wordle word cloud.

  1. 1. Go to the website http://www.wordle.net.

  2. 2. Click on the Create tab.

  3. 3. Type (or paste) your words. The more often you enter a word, the bigger the word cloud will be. Click on the Go button.

  4. 4. Change the font, color, and the layout of your created Wordle by clicking the tabs available above the word cloud, as shown in the following screenshot:

  5. 5. When you're satisfied with the word cloud, click on Save to Gallery.

  6. 6. Copy the link that you get for your Wordle (press Ctrl+C on your keyboard).

What just happened?

We used a website called Wordle to make a word cloud of the terms on our topic of flooding. The more often we typed the words, the larger they appeared in the word cloud. We chose a font and color, decided how we wanted our cloud to appear, and then saved it as a link. We will give that to our students.
