Chapter 13. Summing it Up

It's very likely that you have reached this chapter by skipping through a bunch in between. Maybe you skimmed through some, looking for anything that catches the eye. Technically, I should be offended that my writing is not interesting enough for you, but I won't be, because the truth is that most managers will do exactly that.

With so many issues to worry about, so many people to talk to, so many e-mails to reply to, and so many expectations to meet, time and attention is at a premium for most managers. As a result, most managers start to move into a model where they try to find the 'core' of the matter and grasp as much as possible in a few minutes.

Know what you manage
