Closing the hiring process


The ideal result of the hiring process is an offer being made to a candidate or a rejection. In a positive result, the hiring manager and the organization does a good job of reaching out to the candidate and keeping him/her informed. However, in the case of a rejection, it is unfortunate that a large number of people get no clear response or any response whatsoever from the organization they were interviewed at.

Also, some organizations have a rather long process of interviewing. It may take several weeks before the entire process is completed. At times during the process, a candidate is often left wondering where he/she stands. A candidate in such a situation may continue to interview in the market and with the confidence of already having a job offer, may actually be able to get a better offer. Managers need to keep the candidate engaged and warmed up during this time.
