Installing a Sametime Community Server


The Sametime Community Server is based on a Domino server rather than a WAS server, but when installed in the overall Sametime environment, it can be managed by the SSC. This gives you a single administrative interface for managing all Sametime server components.

To build a new Sametime Community Server, you must first install a Domino server running HTTP, which will act as the host for the Sametime Community Server. Once installed, you can return to the SSC and configure a Community Server Deployment Plan under Sametime System Console | Guided Activities.

The Deployment Plan is configured with the fully qualified hostname for the host where the Domino server is running and where the Community Server is to be installed. You must also provide credentials that the SSC can use to remotely manage the Sametime environment once it is installed in Domino.

The user ID associated with these credentials must be an account in the Domino directory that has Sametime...
