Troubleshooting the installation

We have included a number of log locations for you—in the event that you should need to review them—to assist with troubleshooting the installation.

Note

In order to prevent network issues during the install, confirm that your network team has the list of required ports and they have made them available to your server and firewall configurations.

Any host names should be configured in your domain name server so that they are ready to use as soon as your servers are ready for testing. Testing after each component install helps to confirm your configuration is correct at each stage of the install process.

Installation log files

Installation log files can be found in the following locations:

  • Windows:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\logs

  • Windows 2008:

    C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs

  • AIX/Linux/Solaris:

    /var/ibm/InstallationManager/logs

  • WAS-based application log files are created on the server's file system...
