Sametime Business Card


A Sametime Business Card provides a Sametime user with a common interface for contact information, similar to a paper business card. A standard Business Card includes the user's name, job title, company, e-mail address, telephone number, address, and photo. In addition, your Business Card always shows location information from your Sametime location status.

One thing to note is that even though the fields are labeled as address, company, and so on, you can store anything you wish in those fields. For example, you could store department information in the address field if that makes more sense for your environment.

The data in these fields are not held within Sametime itself or in any other Sametime data store. They are pulled in real time from an alternative data source which could be:

  • Domino database(s)

  • LDAP server

  • IBM Connections profile
