In this chapter, we will continue the post-production phase of our project by adding animation and interactivity to our Captivate movies. This will make our projects even more interesting, sophisticated, and fun to use.
This interactivity is made possible by three interactive objects. These objects have the ability to stop the playhead and wait for the user to do or to type something. This introduces a whole new level of complexity, as the student shall receive feedback that depends on whatever action he/she performed. Therefore, we will have to analyze the clicks and answers of the students and act accordingly. This concept is known as branching.
Before exploring these interactive objects and converting our Demonstration into a Simulation, we will continue to explore the basic objects of Captivate by introducing different kinds of animations to our slides. These animations can either be created directly in Captivate or in an external...
