Setting the Media Tool display


In this recipe, we'll discuss opening the Media Tool and determining what gets displayed in the Media Tool window, and how it is displayed.

In the sections that follow this one, we'll discuss using the Media Tool for various tasks (for example, deleting unused media, deleting media for specific tracks of a clip, moving media from one drive to another, and so on.)

How to do it...

  1. To open the Media Tool display dialog, go to Tools menu | Media Tool.

  2. The Media Tool display dialog window opens. Let's discuss each section:

    • Media drive(s) display region: This displays all the drives and/or partitions that Media Composer can see. You tell Media Composer to look at specific drives by using Shift+Click method, or you can quickly tell it to look at all the drives by clicking the All Drives button.

    • Project(s) display region: Every time you create media files by capturing from tape, importing, rendering, Consolidating, or Transcoding, they become associated with the project...
