Before you Consolidate or Transcode clips, I highly recommend that you perform a test of the process with some unimportant clips to familiarize yourself with the workflow, additional options, and final results.
Please note that the topics covered, and recipes of steps provided, are geared toward those using local media drives for storage, for example, the internal hard drive, fixed hard drive(s), and/or a relatively small, local RAID. Note that those working at a facility with Avid Unity, Avid ISIS, Avid Interplay, or another shared storage solution must consult with their facility's technical administrators or lead assistant editors before carrying out any media management functions in a shared storage environment.
