Summary


This final chapter took us into the logs to review how we can troubleshoot issues within our Blackboard Learn environment. By understanding the log files and what information each one contains, we have improved our sleuthing abilities. We even learned some helpful tips when trying to troubleshoot user issues. Our final discussion in this chapter took us to the unpleasant discussion of disasters and how to prepare our instance for them. Our successful disaster recovery plan starts by understanding what our organization expects from our Blackboard Learn environment and how we can meet that need. We then must look at the different data groupings within the application itself such as the database, course, and user files, along with application files. We then must take our expectations and craft a customized plan that meets all those needs.

We have taken a long journey learning about Blackboard Learn. I hope that the time that we have spent reviewing the many parts of this application...
