A Short History of Notes and Domino

AutoSave


Domino Designer 7 includes a new AutoSave feature. This allows you to automatically backup any documents open in Edit mode to a defined AutoSave database. If the editing session is interrupted before you can save the document, you can retrieve the version of the document residing in the AutoSave database and restore your edits. AutoSave also allows you to backup, on demand, any documents currently open in Edit mode into the AutoSave database.

AutoSave databases are defined on a per-user basis. This prevents the sharing of documents backed up into the AutoSave database by multiple user IDs.

Configuring the Lotus Notes Client for AutoSave

Although AutoSave is generally considered a Domino Designer enhancement (also see Chapter 5), there is also an administrative component involved.
