The fact that we can add rain and snow, as easy as reading this sentence, really proves that Lumion is a powerful and versatile application. Adding rain or snow is something that we can easily achieve by adding two effects in the Photo or Movie mode.
We don't need anything special for this tutorial, just make sure that you have some 3D models in the scene to see how the snow works with the environment.
Let's start by adding rain with the following steps:
Click on the New effect button, and from the Weather tab, select the Rain effect.
Once you select this effect, your scene changes dramatically into a rainy day.
Correct the Drop distortion value if the rain in your project looks strange.
Adjust the Cloudy setting to quickly darken the sky and increase the humidity in the air.
The Wind X and Wind Y settings let you change the direction of the rain.
