Adding fumes and vapors


In addition to the solid and liquid elements in Lumion, we can find elements that we could label as non-solid. Lumion has a special section for these elements, opening with the smoke, passing all the way through dust, and then finishing with fog and water vapor. How we can place these elements in our project and a realistic application of some of them is what this recipe is going to teach you.

Getting ready

Possibly, the best way to become familiarized with these elements is by using a simple scene where we can run a smooth simulation without overcharging Lumion.

How to do it…

To add smoke to your project, perform the following steps:

  1. From the left-hand side of the screen, select the Objects menu.

  2. Click on the Effects button to access these special effects.

  3. On top of the Place button, click on the thumbnail called Change object to access the Lumion library.

  4. Once inside the Effects Library, start by selecting the Smoke tab.
