The set-up phase


From the drop-down menu, select Workshop and fill in the name and description details as shown in the following screenshot:

Workshop features

We can have three elements to our workshop:

  1. 1. Use examples: Students are provided with sample items that they can practice evaluating either before they send in their work or before they review others.

  2. 2. Use peer assessment: The "traditional" use of the workshop where students' work is distributed amongst them for them to evaluate.

  3. 3. Use self-assessment: Students reflect on and evaluate their own work.

Andy's only using the peer assessment feature in his, but it can be useful to have the others also.

Grading settings

Here's where Andy or we as teachers decide how this workshop will be graded:

  • Grade for submission: This is the mark the students will get for sending in their poem.

  • Grade for assessment: This is their mark for evaluating others' work.

  • Grading strategy: This is where we decide how the work will be graded and we can choose...
