Summary


In this chapter, we've taken a brief journey through the administration features of Moodle 2.0, both from an admin and then a course tutor's point of view. We've focused on what's new and what's different from Moodle 1.9.

If we had to pick out the salient features in a few bullet points we might select:

  • Increased efficiency and clarity of roles.

  • Improved interaction with the Open Web—both going out of Moodle and coming in.

  • Better management of enrolments.

  • Enhanced appearance—both navigationally and thematically.

At the time of writing, Moodle 2.0 was in preview mode (beta).At the time of publication it will be on Candidate Release 1. Things change fast, the world changes fast, and Moodle 2.0 is changing with it. If you find some features different in your install from here, do let Packt know and we'll adapt the relevant sections of the book in the next revision.
