Let's say we have a text from Shakespeare: ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. We would like to do a little book on this famous text that we can get from the manybooks.com website, http://manybooks.net/titles/shakespeetext982ws3010.html. In the download section (the orange rectangle to the right-hand side), choose the format (.odt
, .txt)
and download it. We will try it in two ways just to show you the difference.
Begin by creating a portrait A5 double-sided document. We don't actually know how many pages we'll need; so let's say that we actually need four pages.
With the Insert Text Frame tool (T), Shift + click in the first page to create a page-wide frame.
Ctrl + I will display the import window as File | Import would; browse through your directories to find the text you want to use. Don't touch any other settings, and click on OK.
