Paragraph formatting are generally less known than character properties (except alignment) but they are as practical. To begin with, it's important to understand what Scribus calls a paragraph and how you create it.
Paragraph differs from simple line break. A paragraph is created when you press the Enter key whereas a line break is done by using Shift + Enter. It's important to notice because paragraph settings are applied to the whole paragraph. For example, we'll see later, that when using paragraph styles, drop cap can be set only on first letters of this paragraph.
Scribus uses very few paragraph settings in the PP. If you want to get full options, you'll need to go into styles quite early. We guess this is a good thing even if we'd like to have more properties available in both PP and styles, just for consistency.
