The details of the Stencils palette


Overview of the palette sections

Each section will be covered in detail later in this chapter.

The Stencil Library Controls contain the Stencil View buttons, a command button, and the Stencil Search field.

The Stencil Folders pane is where you find your installed stencils.

Example of one particular stencil named Connections—this is the stencil selected in the Stencil Folders above.

If you click on a whole folder in the Stencil Folders pane, all the stencils found within the folder will be consecutively displayed. If you have a folder with very large stencils, it may feel that OmniGraffle is going completely bananas. If this happens you can either wait it out or force-quit the application. Remember that if you force-quit the application any unsaved work will be lost.

The Metadata pane contains information on a selected shape from the selected stencil.
