Compound shapes consist of more than one element. An element in this case is a simple line (there is an exception to this, which we will cover later).
A compound shape can have the following style properties:
Shape type
Shape stroke and color
Fill color and fill type
Stroke corner radius
Shadow type, color, and size
Text type (font), color, size, and rotation
Connection points
Except for the Shape type, most of the other style properties are common for both the singular shape (lines) and the text shape; these will be covered later in this chapter.
There are quite a few basic shape types that come with OmniGraffle. All these basic shapes are found in the Lines and Shapes property inspector. You can change between these types of shapes easily by selecting a shape on the canvas, and then clicking on the shape type in the inspector.
