With a wide range of templates, we're able to build interactive ads simply by dragging-and-dropping media onto the ad canvas. Templates are useful, as they offer familiarity to the user; because they follow Apple's standards and are used by other ads available on the network. We'll take a look at the different templates available for each part of our iAd, and then make a basic ad, using templates that we'll later extend with objects.
If you plan on using your own assets, you'll need:
A preroll video, under 10 seconds, and relevant media used to create it. This video needs to be encoded for Wi-Fi and cellular, to be used in an iAd.

In Chapter 2, Preparing Your iAd Content, we looked at using the save for web feature of QuickTime X to export our videos for Wi-Fi and cellular, so our iAd can load the appropriate movie for the user's connection.
