Time for action — prerollin'


We'll continue with our Coffee Beans project and add a short video of a steamy cup of coffee:

  1. 1. If you haven't already, open the Coffee Beans project, or if you're working on your own ad, open that now.

  2. 2. The preroll video is set up with the splash screen, so we'll need to add a placeholder Splash screen before we can add our preroll. Double-click Splash from the ad overview to open the template chooser. Select the Mosaic template. The Mosaic templatecuts an image added to the canvas into multiple sections that are transitioned onto the screen. Double-click on the Splash page again, to open the ad overview.

  3. 3. Open the asset library pane and drag the coffee-steam-video.jpg to the canvas. This is the poster frame of our preroll video and can be used to transition smoothly into the ad while the main video loads. A poster frame is a snapshot image from the first second of our video and is created automatically when converting it in QuickTime.
