Time for action — getting iTunes Store IDs


We can get the Store IDs of items required by the Purchase template using the built-in store in iTunes:

  1. 1. To access the iTunes Store, open iTunes. You'll find iTunes in the Applications folder on your Mac. Double-click on the icon to open it.

  2. 2. In the sidebar, on the left of iTunes, click on the iTunes Store item found under the Store heading, shown in the following screenshot:

  3. 3. Find the search store text area in the top right of the main bar of iTunes. Enter the content you want to find the ID of, for example, Apple's iBooks app. Press the Enter key to search.

  4. 4. You'll now see a list of search results; find your item, click on the arrow next to the price, and select Copy Link. This will copy the link of your item to your clipboard:

  5. 5. Now, we need to paste the link so that we can extract the Store ID from it. Open TextEdit, a text editor that came with your Mac. You should be able to find it in the Applications folder. Once opened, you should...
