By letting external reviewers into the project, we have confronted our work to the outside world. Thanks to the feedback of our reviewers, we now have a much better idea of what our project is capable of in the wild.
For the success of such a review process, it is important to choose the reviewers correctly. Try to have the largest possible panel of profiles among your reviewers. Take some technical reviewers to chase the bugs. Also take some designers to have feedback on the look and feel and the ergonomics of your work. And don't forget to bring in the average guy that represents the intended target audience to have a feedback on how the course is perceived by the students.
