Preface

Adding audio to objects

Sound can be added on each and every object of Captivate. The audio clip associated with an object plays when the object it belongs to appears on the stage. Even though nothing prevents us from adding narration or music at the object level, most of the time, the object level audio is used to add sound effects to the movie.

In the next exercise, we will add a sound effect to the Adobe Media Encoder logo in the Encoder Demonstration project using the following steps:

  1. 1. Go to slide 3 of the encoderDemo_800.cptx file.

  2. 2. Select the Adobe Media Encoder logo to make it the active object. The Properties panel is updated.

  3. 3. Open the Audio accordion of the Properties panel and click on the Add Audio button.

  4. 4. At the bottom of the Object Audio dialog, click on the Import button. The Import Audio box opens.

By default, the Import Audio dialog shows the content of the Sound directory of the Gallery. Remember that the Gallery is a collection of assets that ships with Captivate....
