Localizing a Captivate project using Microsoft Word


In this section, we will create the French version of our Encoder Demonstration. To produce the French version of the project, there are three basic things to do. They are as follows:

  • Re-record the screenshots of the demonstration using the French version of the Adobe Media Encoder application

  • Translate the Text Captions and the Slide Notes

  • Translate the other assets (such as the video file or additional imported images)

In the following exercise, we will concentrate on the second step of this process, which is, Translating the Text Captions and the Slide Notes:

  1. 1. Open the Chapter09/encoderDemo_800_fr.cptx file.

  2. 2. Use the Filmstrip to go to slide 4 of the project.

    Notice that the background of slide 4 is a screenshot of the French version of the Adobe Media Encoder. The same is true for the other screenshot-based slides of the project. Notice also that, for the purpose of this exercise, the Pretest has been removed from the French project...
