In this chapter, we took an extensive look at ways to extend image processing in Aperture. We examined some recommended plugins that every Aperture user would benefit from having, as well as looked at some others that are also pretty useful. We then learned how to work with external editors, and looked at ways of working with the industry leader Photoshop, as well as some popular Photoshop alternatives. Finally, we looked at how to work with third-party RAW converters using the Catapult plugin, and we looked at a workflow for working with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
In the next chapter, we will move away from ways to process your images and we will look at how to work with metadata. Good use of metadata can make your life a lot easier, especially when you want to search for an image in the future. We will also see some real world uses of metadata, and why good metadata is an important part of professional photography.
