Summary


In this chapter we have seen all the elements that can contribute to creating a full scene. We first started putting together a full environment out of small building blocks, and this showed us how we can combine elements together to create our own environment, beyond what the original product provided.

We have seen how to manage several aspects of fitting a garment to a human figure, including mixing together elements such as boots and pants. We also used the smoothing feature of Studio to remove poke-throughs.

We have seen how to use material presets and how to edit a material by using the Surfaces tab. Finally, we learned about channels and how they contribute to the final material.

It's now time to look at how to use lighting artistically, something that we will learn to do in the next chapter. Lighting is probably the single most important element of any scene. Learning how to use it and when to use it is a fundamental skill for any 3D artist. The next chapter will introduce lights...
