Creating an explosion tremor and flying figure effect


In this task, you will finish the visual effects of this scene by sending the guard flying out of shot, then adding a little shake to the camera in order to imply how violent the explosion is. All of this will be accomplished using the Motion filter (added by default to every clip on the Timeline) combined with keyframes. This is something you have achieved many times in different scenarios, so this section should be a breeze for you.

Engage Thrusters

Add a tremor effect and the illusion of a flying figure by following these steps:

  1. Start by double-clicking on the Guard_01_Nest clip at the end of Video 3, and open up the nested sequence. Once it has opened, click on the Guard_02_Frame_Export.png clip on Video 1, and open the Effect Controls panel.

  2. Click once on the fx symbol next to the Lightening effect to toggle the effect off for this clip.
