This next exercise is more advanced than previous object lessons in this book. We will delve into some of the code used to define objects and also see how to manipulate the parameters visible to the end user.
For this lesson, we are going to create another desk by using what we created in the previous lesson. Then we will save it as an object. You will modify the slab and walls to fit into a different location in the building. Then, you will learn how to turn the desk into an object that can be easily copied to multiple places in the building model:
Select the slab and walls that made up the desk in the previous lesson and make a copy (Ctrl + Shift + D). Then, place it in the pantry area on the ground level between column grid intersections D-2 & C-3.
Rotate it approximately 55 degrees counter clockwise so that the short edge of the table is straight up and down and move it up against the column. See the following screenshot:
