The quickest way to add formatting and tags is to use QuickPlace (Ctrl + ,). In the following screenshot, we add the bold formatting in Segment 2 by selecting the word plusieurs, pressing Ctrl + , and then pressing Enter to format the selected text:

Segment 3, shown in the following screenshot, contains three words that require formatting (in bold, italics, and underline respectively). We type the translation of the entire segment first and then apply the formatting. This is often the easiest way to work with formatting.

To add the bold formatting to the French word for other, we select its translation (d'autres) in the target segment and press Ctrl + ,. This displays a QuickPlace list containing all three instances of formatting in the segment. The currently selected formatting is highlighted in yellow in the source segment.
