Performing an analysis


This section describes how to analyze an individual document or several files in a project.

Note

Analysis provides a snapshot of the similarity between the document for translation and the TM(s) at that point in time. For invoicing and quoting purposes, it is therefore essential to do the analysis before you start translating. Obviously, if you translate the document and update the TM with its content first and then run the analysis second, the result will be a series of 100% matches, which is no use for quoting or invoicing.

Analyzing an individual document

To analyze an individual document that you have opened in the Editor and saved as SDLXLIFF (such as our sample file), perform the following steps:

  1. From the Home tab, choose Batch Tasks | Analyze Files, as shown in the following screenshot (saving the SDLXLIFF first if prompted):
