Chapter 5. Intel IoT Developer Kit Tools

So far, you have learned how to develop projects for your Galileo board using the Arduino IDE. If you were already familiar with Arduino boards, you certainly noticed some resemblances developing between both the boards. Although very simple and intuitive to use, it can get complex when you want to develop bigger and more ambitious projects. Also, many developers aren't that keen on developing their projects using the Arduino C/C++ language.

In this chapter, we'll have a look at other available development tools and languages by exploring some of the features that the Intel® IoT Developer Kit pack provides. Being a complete hardware and software solution, it offers way more tools for your IoT projects than the Arduino IDE, also allowing you to develop your projects in other languages and the possibility of using a cloud-based IoT analytics system.
