Dedication

Today. while writing this, it has passed 11 months to the day since the work on this book began. A lot of time and effort has been dedicated to creating this book and its contents. If this book helps you, the reader, gain insights into the world of Internet of Things and the future Smart City, or Smart Society, this effort has been well spent. I would like to dedicate this book to the loving memory of my little brother, Viktor, who unfortunately passed away last year, only thirty-seven years old, leaving behind his wife and children. It was a difficult time for the entire family, and in many regards, it still is. This book wouldn’t have been completed without the help, support, and understanding of my father, Jüri, who has dedicated a lot of time and effort to his grandchildren; and my wife, Katya; and daughters, Maria-Lorena and Ella-Pauline. Without their support and understanding, it wouldn’t have been possible to dedicate all the late nights and weekends to this book. I would also like to thank the editors at Packt, who have had patience with all the many missed deadlines.
