If you follow information security, or just the latest trends in hacking attacks, you will find that IoT devices are one of the most attacked devices. The security implications of many IoT devices are often not considered because they are so simple. After all, what harm could possibly be done if your internet baby monitor can be hacked? Besides the obvious, which is that it allows someone to see what and where things and people are in your house, it may also be used as a source to compromise other systems.
