Chapter 10. Monetization – Make Money with Your App

Now that we have launched our application on the market and it is beginning to get downloaded by people, it is time to start earning some money from it. Whether it is our main business or a spare-time hobby, it took us a considerable amount of time to design, develop, and test the application. So, it would be good to monetize it somehow.

In this chapter, we will see different monetization strategies. Simply putting a price on our application is the most straightforward approach and might actually work out quite well, but we will also see how to enable in-app purchase elements in our application and how to add advertisements. It will depend on the type of application we are working with to decide the use of one mechanism or another, or even a combination of them; for example, we can have a free application with advertisements and an in-app purchase to disable advertisements.
