Linking to React Navigation

We'll begin this challenge by using the same project we used previously in Chapter 10, Building an Onboarding Screen. Why, you ask? Well, that's because the purpose of creating an onboarding screen was exactly this – to have some sort of introduction to our main app.

So, open the folder and get ready to code. We'll start by importing all the necessary packages we'll need to connect our onboarding screen to any new screen we'll be creating moving forward. Let's open our terminal and move to our project folder. There, we'll begin by writing the following command:

npm install @react-navigation/native

This will install the basis of our navigation system. We'll also need to install all the dependencies this package needs, which we can do via the following command:

expo install react-native-gesture-handler react-native-reanimated react-native-screens react-native-safe-area-context @react-native-community...
