Using reading lists

Normally, if you lack access to the internet or a cellular phone network, you cannot read web pages. However, if you download and save web pages in a reading list, you can later read saved web pages anywhere you go, even if you lack access to the internet or cellular phone network.

Storing web pages in a reading list

Before you can read anything, you need to store items in a reading list. To store a web page in a reading list, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Safari app on the Home Screen. The Safari screen appears.
  2. Tap the text field at the top of the screen and type a website address, and then navigate to a web page that you want to save.
  3. Tap the share icon. A sheet of icons appears at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Slide down the sheet of icons until you see a list of commands, as shown in Figure 9.27:

  5. Tap Add to Reading List.
